Bed
bugs get their name because they like to live and feed in
beds.
Habits Bed bugs like to travel and will hide in
suitcases, boxes and shoes to be near a food supply. They
are elusive, nocturnal creatures. They can hide behind
baseboards, electrical switch plates, picture frames, even
wall paper. They come out at night for a blood meal.
Habitat Bed bugs like to hide in small cracks and
crevices close to a human environment. Bed bugs can be
detected often by looking for black tracks on bedding,
which are the bed bugs' fecal stains. (The stains show up
best on white- or light-colored bedding, and may be more
difficult to see on darker bedding.) They can be found
behind baseboards, wallpaper, upholstery, and in furniture
crevices.
Threats Although bed bugs can dine on any warm-blooded
animal, they primarily dine on humans. Bed bugs do not
transmit diseases, but their bites can become red, itchy
welts.
Bed bugs can be found in All
50 States
Steri- Fab is the most effective Bed Bug Spray for Bed
Bug Control and will get rid of and kill bed bugs.
Prevention:
Vacuum suitcases after returning from a vacation. Check
your bed sheets for tell-tale blood spots. Consider
bringing a large plastic trash bag to keep your suitcase
in during hotel stays. Carry a small flashlight to
assist you with quick visual inspections. Never bring
second-hand furniture, especially
king size mattresses and box
springs, into a home without thoroughly examining for
signs of a bed bug infestation. You might consider
having a pest control professional inspect the furniture
as it is difficult to detect an infestation if you are
untrained. Regularly inspect areas where pets sleep for
signs of bed bugs. Bed bugs are elusive creatures, so it
is imperative to seek professional pest control help to
address a serious infestation.

is the only Bed Bug Control product registered
with EPA that is a disinfectant,
insecticide, fungicide, germicide, sanitizer,
viricide, deodorant, mildewcide, bactericide as
well as bacteriostatic and fungistatic. Sterifab
Bed Bug Spray offers a unique quality in the world
of disinfectants: the added benefit of being both
bactericidal and fungicidal, as well as being
bacteriostatic and fungistatic. Sterifab kills
bacteria and fungus and also inhibits the growth
of bacteria and fungus after it dries. This
unusual combination is also coupled with the fact
that Sterifab is also an insecticide that will
kill bed bugs, lice, dust mites, carpet beetles,
ticks, roaches and other insects. Unlike
disinfectants that need to be diluted with water,
STERIFAB Bed Bug Spray requires no dilution, is
non residual and dries in 15 to 20 minutes and is
undetectable when dry. This ready-to-use Bed Bug
Control product can be sprayed on most inanimate
surfaces including, mattresses, pillows,

bedding and upholstered furniture. It is effective
against most gram negative and gram positive
bacteria. It kills many types of insects, fungus,
mold and mildew, as well as odor causing bacteria.

MORE ABOUT
BEDBUGS:
Bedbugs are found in homes, apartments,
dorm rooms, hotel rooms, airplanes, public transit
seats, cars and moving vans—pretty much anywhere they
can find a human host. They then attach themselves to
clothing and other belongings and are (unknowingly)
transported to new locations. However, you now have the
power to detect bedbugs in time to prevent bites and
infestation, with Bed Bug Alert.
Bedbugs are known to carry at least 27 agents of human
disease, including the drug-resistant bacteria (or
“superbugs”) MRSA and VRE, and even Hepatitis and HIV
(according to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention journal). Scientists are still working to
determine the threat of transmission. However, there is
no reason to take chances when a detection system this
simple exists.

HOW BED BUG ALERT
WORKS:
The proprietary chemical lure attracts the bed bugs into
the monitor and traps them faster and more effectively
than other devices
The patented housing is tamper-proof, protective of the
chemical lure, making the product safe to use around
children and pets
The monitor has a clear view window so the user can
easily check to see if bed bugs have been detected and
trapped – no training required
Can be checked and reinserted and reused easily where
bed bugs are suspected
Sturdy plastic construction prevents the glue and the
monitor from being crushed while in use
Attracts both adult bed bugs and 2nd instar nymphs
The Bed Bug Alert is
a SIMPLE, DISCREET and AFFORDABLE way to check
for bedbugs anywhere:
Hospitality industry – monitor all rooms discreetly
Business owners – find problems before they spread
Travelers – test hotel and motel beds; keep a monitor
in your luggage
Families – keep an eye on hospitals or long-term care
facilities for loved ones
Homeowners – check daily

Take control of your Bed Bug problem
with the eco-friendly ClimbUp®
The
ClimbUp® insect interceptor forms a barrier between
floor and bed.
Bed bugs
approaching bed from room will climb up exterior
surface and fall into the outer pitfall ring. Bed
bugs climbing down from bed will be found in center
well.
FAQ
about the ClimbUp®
Insect Interceptor, an Environmentally safe Bed Bug and Insect trapping device.
How Big is the
Center Well of the ClimbUp® Bed
Bug & Insect Monitor?
The diameter of
the center well is 4 1/4", so it
is large enough to accommodate
the rolling casters found on
many metal bed legs. The latest
addition to the ClimbUp Bed Bug
and Insect Monitor line: ClimbUp
XL (Stock# 2024) Measuring 8 in.
wide by 10 in. long (see quarter
in the photo as a size
comparison), it can be used with
larger furniture as an effective
method to monitor bed bug
infestations. The center well
measures 4 x 6 in. It is
available in boxes of 24.
Do I Take the
Tape off the ClimbUp® ?
No, do not remove the paper
tape. The paper provides the
fibrous surface for the bed bugs
to climb up. If you remove it in
error, it can be replaced with
paper wound tape available at
your local drugstore.
Would ClimbUp®
Work Better if Alcohol, Soapy
Water or Oil were Added to
Capture Wells?
No, liquids negate the lubricant
effect of the talc. When alcohol
or soapy water evaporates from
the wells in a day or two, bed
bugs will be able to cross the
barrier. When a dust or lint
film forms on the oil, bed bugs
can walk across the top. Also,
bed bugs are much easier to see
against the opaque talc surface
than in liquids.
What Can Be Done
if Bed Legs are Too Big to Fit
in ClimbUp®?
Spacers or risers can be placed
under legs to elevate legs 1½”
over ClimbUp®. Commercial bed
risers are available and
do-it-yourselfers find that 1½”
thick wooden blocks or slices of
3” diameter PVC pipe work well.
How can ClimbUp®
Cracking over Padded Carpet be
Prevented?
Distribute the weight of the leg
over the area of the center well
by placing a 3” diameter disk of
thin, rigid material under the
ClimbUp®. A 3” dock washer from
the local fastener store works
very well.
Can Scented
Talcum Powder be used to
Re-lubricate ClimbUp® Surface?
Yes, talcum powder is talc. Any
talcum powder will work as
lubricant. Bed bugs appear to be
neither attracted nor repelled
by the scents found in baby
talcum powder or body talcum
powder. Cosmetic talc is
sufficiently pure for the
purpose of lubrication.
What Prevents Bed
Bugs that have Climbed Down Bed
Leg from Climbing Back Up Again?
Nothing
prevents bed bugs from
climbing back up again but
dispersing bed bugs are
trying to get away from bed.
Bed bugs only seek a blood
meal about once per week.
