Example of a poor question

I live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia along a river in a very old house surrounded by woods and soybean fields. . Today while I was weed eating the bank of the river, a snake gray in color, slithered past me very fast and went towards the river so I am assuming it is a water moccasin. But there is also an old barn like building full of old hay and straw that needs to be cleaned out in order to get rid of what may be lurking in there. But the river is salt water not fresh water. I know little to nothing about snakes except for the fact I am scared to death of them. Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated.
