Bait Stations
Proper Placement
of Stations
Place bait station by
ant trails and/or where ants have been seen. Place
three bait stations in an average size room, or
approximately one bait station per 100 square feet.
(Increase for heavy infestations.) Do not spray
chemicals or disturb trails between ant nests and
bait stations. Killing ants or disturbing trails
will prevent ants from carrying the bait back to the
colony. On follow-up treatments, replace bait
stations that are empty and relocate stations that
show little or no ant activity. Take note of any
activity and bait placements will allow for more
efficient and effective follow-up treatments.

BAITING
TIPS
If you survey the
outside of your home and find ants entering a
certain point, they probably are living pretty close
to that point (they prefer exterior walls and
insulation restricts their movements). Exterior
baiting is very important! If you bait close to
where the ants live, they don't have to travel far
to get the bait and they have more time to share the
bait before they expire. The ants who want to share
the candy delight you left on the table could be
coming from anywhere, up to 100 feet away. That
means that the ants you see streaming around the
garage door, very likely are sending scouts to the
kitchen to search for such treasures! You should
bait inside, but don't neglect outside. It's where
ants spend the majority of their time. It just seems
like they are homebound. Next Point.........
Ants are not bees,
even though they are related. Bees make wonderful
wax structures to store golden honey, yum. Ants do
not store much solid food at all, and they have NO
capacity to store liquids. So what, right? If ants
are enjoying soda pop remnants and other gooey
wonders in your kitchen, how much bait will they be
able to take? To effectively bait ants, you need to
make an effort to rinse soda cans and clean counters
to eliminate things that compete with the bait.
Also, because they are only going to be able to take
a certain amount, follow label directions and don't
over-bait. More Questions? CLICK
